Hi I’m Agatha Gomes. I am a recent graduate of the BA in Computer Animation Arts at the NCCA in Bournemouth University.
I was born in Brazil. I moved with my family to the UK at the age of 4 where I lived here for 6 years. Then I found myself moving with my family yet again but this time to Toronto Canada at age 10. After a visit to the National Film Board of Canada, I became inspired to work in Animation and VFX.
At 15 I left Canada and came back to the UK which lead me to eventually choosing to study at Bournemouth University. The Computer Animation Arts course covered both the artistic and technical aspects of computer animation, which gave us a wide range of disciplines to be explored. Assessment included modules undertaken individually and as part of a group. Modules included Python/C++ Programming, Mathematics for Computer graphics, Life Drawing, Camera Acquisition, Green Screen Setup, Compositing, Character Animation, Contextual Studies, Design, Modelling and General Maya. The course gave me a great foundation and better understanding of practices in industry.
My recent work with Rock Paper Film has also been brilliant. My focus included, environment modelling, texturing and lighting. Working at Rock Paper Film further fueled my passion and desire to dive into my chosen career.
I enjoy drawing, photography, architecture, playing video games, playing my Ukulele, British comedies, exercise and rollerblading (however not always all at once). I enjoy geeking out over comics and graphic novels. Im also a red belt in TaeKwonDo and have dabbled in ballet and modern jazz.
